If your motorcycle or motor scooter is between 3 and 40 years old, it must be present for an annual MOT test and by law, you must get an MOT test for your motorbike every year. We will work through the motorbike MOT checklist to make sure you pass and receive your certificate.
What Does the Test Cover?
Your motorbike MOT test will cover all the essential items, such as the structure and frame, steering and suspension, wheels and tyres, all the lights including indicators (if fitted), brakes, exhaust system, fuel system, seats and other mechanical parts. If a sidecar is also attached, then its condition will also be checked as part of the MOT test. We will work through a motorcycle MOT checklist to ensure you pass all requirements.
The most common causes of MOT failure for motorcycles are in relation to non-working lights, tyre wear or badly placed number plates, so make sure you give your bike a once-over before booking your MOT test.
New motorcycle mot rules came into force in 2022, and we are happy to provide advice and guidance on the changes.
